AutoSens is created by engineers, for engineers.
Built on the vision of senior technical experts at automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, and delivered by conference experts with a passion for engineering. This event is a unique meeting place and plays a vital role in developing sensor technology, processing hardware and algorithms, and system architecture to meet the future demands of automotive OEMs.

As the automotive sector enters a new age of electronics integration, these systems are becoming ever more integrated. Vehicles are gathering more and more knowledge about their external environment, and in-built intelligence is using that data to make informed decisions and take action to improve safety and increase efficiency. That data be picked up as a signal from an external source, or it can be sensed directly by the vehicle via one or more electronic devices including image sensors, lidar, radar, ultrasonic, and more.

Most of these devices were not initially developed for automotive use. So adaptation of the hardware, calibration, testing, performance optimisation, environmental resistance and other relevant factors, all have to be taken into account to create systems that are optimised for integration into production vehicles.
Best practice, shared challenges, standardisation, innovation and supply chain collaboration were all discussed via a series of presentations and chaired panel discussions in three separate tracks.
Mixed networking and breaks and evening receptions provide an ideal opportunity for meeting your peers, discussing proceedings, and connecting with new suppliers and customers. An exhibition space showcases novel technologies from selected organisations and a poster display gives insight into the latest thinking from the next generation of engineers.
“I decided to start this event because I saw a need to cut through the hype and create a meeting that is truly for the engineers – the guys and girls who are applying their knowledge and solving problems on a daily basis. Conferences often get caught up in hype and looking too far into the future. AutoSens is a technical conference, but set in the business context of a complex supply chain. By assembling a representative advisory board, we can get to the heart of the challenges facing the army of engineers crunching the numbers and running the trials that move ideas from the drawing board into production vehicles.”
“Autonomous vehicles may be the end game but there are many steps to take before we get there, and it’s the medium term goals of developing, enhancing and integrating ADAS that remains the focus of today’s OEM supply chain,” says Robert Stead, Chairman of the Advisory Board of AutoSens.
